Question about 1998 Saturn SL
The shifter is leaning to the right. The linkage on the trans for the side to side motion cable has slipped out of the proper groove and the linkage is loose and floppy. I popped it back into proper groove and it fixed gear selection problem, but 30 miles later it happened again. How do I fix this.
1.do see for new OEM replacable shifter parts 2. if unable to find do as following like you have mention below that if some riveted to trans exterior remove those rivet & make it fix with that rivet size locking nut bolt system 3.like you are telling that there are sifter cable on your trnasmission system so better check for that part & replace with genune OEM part 4. if every thing you are trying is troublefull then switch the car to nearest authorised service centre for more trouble free hazard free driving untill then have safe driving take care & do keep in contact sir for more quaries...!
