The battery is almost dead. If you have a multi-meter or something to check DC voltage, test your battery. You should have at least 12 volts in order for it to work properly. Good luck!

Saturn jumper cables hooked up backwards

Try charging the battery more. Even though your lights may come one, starting a vehicle requires massive amounts of amperage from the batter. It's possible that your jumper cables aren't a thick enough guage to supply enough power as well. Sometimes the vehicle you're jumping from might not have enough power to support your vehicle's starting power requirements.

My battery is dead, cant get into truck

I would try crawling under vehicle and hooking red jumper cable to big copper stud on starter where the battery cable hooks up, hook the black cable to the frame and hook the other ends up to another vehicle like you were jumping it off. And it should feed the battery with enough power to get the doors open to get the hood up. Good Luck

I cant seem to get my 66 mustang to crank, replaced the neutral safety switch, and the starter relay, batery is good, only the radio and the lights com on.what eles could it be? stumped.

Can you force the starter by jumping the cables at the relay? Using a set of jumper cables use only one wire hook to the relay both sides (the large wires on the relay) the starter should turn the engine now. If not the engine is not grounded to the frame you need to now hook one jumper cable wire from the engine to the batt. neg post and retry, if she spins you need to connect a wire from the frame to the engine and then to the body. Try this and get back to me. .

Sounds like the battery is dead, you have just enough power to have the lights come on, but no cranking of the starter. Try putting the battery on a trickle charger, or hook up jumper cables to another car which is running. Let it run with the jumper cables connected for two mintues before you try and start your car.

Jump start

The battery "jumper terminals" are in the engine bay on the right side. You have to remove the black steel cover plate by removing the 3 screws, then you'll find the terminals. The positive terminal is marked red, unless your previous owner has resprayed the engine bay.
Be careful if you are 'jumping' the battery; the power source has to be even. If you can not use a boost pack and have to use jump leads from another car, make sure the other car engine is switched off - you can damage the management system
