I have a 2001 Saturn L200 with 69K miles on the twin cam 16 valve 2.2 ... It will crank but will not start unless I put the gas pedal to the floor in ... Saturn L200 Cranks but won't start

The anti theft system in the 2000 Saturn LS1, thinks you're trying to steal the car ... Once the security light is not flashing you canstart the car.

DO THE SPARKS HAPPEN AT THE RIGHT TIMING OF THE CRANK?
TRY TO START IT WHILE SPRAYING STARTER FUEL INTO THE AIR FILTER. THAT WILL NARROW THE SCOPE.

Should not need to. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on?

Relay, on top of fuel tank under parcel shelf, check its getting power, if not its fuse, if it is, bin it get a new one.

Done cars have a kill switch if they are low on oil. Check your oil. If the oil is good, it may be the ignition switch.

If the engine fires up for a second or two with starting fluid then the fuel pump is weak.I would check the fuel pressure and if its not within the specs then replace the pump and filter.

Make sure the fuel pump is kicking on it won't hurt to check the relay but I have never seen one bad yet it could be the plug on the plug on the end of the wires that plugs on the pump this run hot and it burns the ends alot several fuel pumps are replaced because of this make sure you have power at the pump if you can't hear it run it will only stay powered for a few seconds and then kick off. so you might need someone to turn it on while someone checks the power.

fuel problem or spark problem neither is associated with a change in sparkplug unless you had a sever misfire that you let go for a long time to cause thhe igition module to fail.and this include the crank sensor that is underneath the ignition module. cycle the key you should hear a humm at the fuel tank and that is the fuel pump working if you hear the fuel pump then more than likely you will need to correct for spark ignition module and crank sensor

it sounds like youre having a starter issue right now and the shaking could be a stuck valve from the soulds of it.
