Do you know where the water-pump is located on this vehicle? It is on the drivers side near the end of the front cylinder head. Does it look like it is leaking from this area?

Please select one of the following:

The Radiator Cooling Fan Motor Relay is located: Under hood, passenger side, front side of wheelwell, mounted in relay panel
The continuity through a switch can be checked with an ohmmeter. With the switch open, there should be infinite resistance. With the switch closed, there should be zero resistance. With the switch off, there should be no continuity between the terminals. With the switch on, there should be good continuity between the terminals. If the switch is activated by something mechanical and doesn't complete the circuit when it should, check the adjustment of the switch. (Some switches are not adjustable.) If the adjustment is correct, replace the switch. Another way to check a switch is to simply bypass it with a jumper wire. If the component works when the switch is jumped, a bad switch is indicated.
Voltage drop across switches should also be checked. Ideally, when the switch is closed there should be no voltage drop. Any voltage drop indicates resistance and the switch should be replaced.

My 1995 aurora is over heating and the cooling fans will not come on?

Change the thermostat! The thermostat is what opens and closes when the engine gets too hot or cold. When it heats up, the valve opens and kicks the fan on.

Step by step directions on how to remove heater core on a 1995 old aurora

Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
* Remove the heater coolant hoses.
* Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
* Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
* Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
* To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps. When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Good luck.

I do i get to the back 4 spark plugs in v-8 engine in a 1995 oldsmobile aurora

You must remove the engine "plenum cover", the "air vacumn chamber" (mounted on top of firewall--2 screws), the "coil packs" with the mounting bracket (just under the air chamber), and then you can access the rear plugs. Caution---you need to make up a long extension to use with your "plug socket". Make sure you fasten the socket to the extension by using "duck tape". If you separate the two pieces, with the socket down in the plug chamber---you will have a difficult time retrieving it. I have tuned my 1995 three times using the above method.

Just bought a 1999 aurora with 4.0 liter v8, drove it 2 miles and was smoking from engine compartment smelled like antifreeze

There apparently is a coolant leak, could be the radiator, upper or lower radiator hoses, water pump, heater hoses or thermostat housing gasket.

Oil leak from the hose an 1995 oldsmobile aurora

Mostly likely it's coming from the oil cooler lines from the motor to the radiator. My friend's Aurora has the same leak, we replaced the oil pressure sending unit, which is close by the lines, but the lines, where the compressed part of the fitting was leaking there. The oil cooler lines will have to be replaced.

2001 Oldsmobile Aurora "Check coolant light" comes on. I refill the coolant and then a few months later the same thing happens. What is the source of this slow leak?Any estimates of cost to repair?

try to get a bottle of transmission sealant first, or sometimes called stop leak. add that, see how it goes for a while. if happens again, then look at hoses and connections, if still happens maybe radiator or a puncture some where
