1999 Chrysler Town and country A/C Problem

I have a 1999 Chrysler town and country van with a 3.8L I am working on. It has a leak in the A/c somewhere. the compressor was replaced last year because it locked up. I have checked all the lines with a UV light afteentering dye into the system. Just curious if anyone has seen this or has any suggestions? Thank you

Thank you. Yeah I was steering towards the evaporator I know that it is a common problem on these vans.

Your evaporator is most likely leaking unless you have rear ac then check the lines going back if it is just front ac the evaporator 90%of the time is you culprit .this is book time 7.8 hours off labor the dash has to come out.but napa or other car parts places sell stop leak with 134a.also get the tool to put it in.

There are kits to test for AC leaks. Typically, they contain 2 cans of R-134A one of which will have a red dye in it. Once adding the test can, look for red spots along the AC lines to find the leaks. This will typically occur around the fittings around the compressor but can occur anywhere along the line. Hope this points you in the right direction. Post back if you need isntructions on filling the system with R-134A. Best of luck.

What size belt do i need to bypass ac compressor o a 99 chrysler town & country?

I wouldn't because you need the defrost to work while in Rain with windows up or in the winter. Good luck with finding measurement for mini-van. Not many people void them.

AC works fine but water drips on passenger side

this is normal, water is the condensation leaking out,but if leaking inside the van then the drain is pluged up, the drain is on the pass/side outside the van on the firewall, blow air into drain or stick a coat hanger in to hole until water leaks out,

Air conditioner only works on high 99 chrysler town and country van we change the switch and the motor and it still doen't work on lower settings

you need a blower resistor maybe a blower motor also but the resistor is for speeds and it usually goes when the blower motor starts to draw too much power the resistor is outside under the cowl on the passanger side you may need a connector pigtail also the dealer will have what you need
