Question about 1990 Geo Metro
Can anyone please help me with this problem, My Prism stumbles on exceleration and as no power,But as the speed slowly get faster it seem easer for the car to gain speed, Although It has a very hard time going faster then 55. I have replaced the fuel filter and the problem did not get better, This problem started out about 6 months ago but was not even close to being is bad. and due to fundsat that time I could not do that much about it. The car revs up in neutral just fine, but the minite you put any load on the car it has a hard time, A/C FORGET it. When you put the ac on that car takes aaround 1 to 1/2 mins to get to 40 miles. I have no clue what it wrong and It's VERY hard in South Florida to find a Good mechanic that is honest (sorry to say) But I have been taken too many times and hundreds if not thousands of dollars wasted on BS jobs.. (Oh your car runs rough, You need a new transmission, head gasket fuel injectors, tires and paint job to reflect the sun of the hood) My friend thinks this problem might be a blown head gasket. But I really not sure. And I don't have the money to waste on like I said false fixing jobs. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP..
Have your catalitic converter checked. they dont work till they reach a certain temp. that is what causes the smell and loss of power. be prepaired to spend some money.
