Question about 2002 Ford E350

1 Answer

1997 Van missign and won't start sometimes.

This is a 1997 E-350 Van. It is missing and sometimes won't start. The OBDII error code is Primary Ignition misfire (P0354). The van has 200,000 plus miles. Plugs were replaced about one year ago and van was running well afterwards until this problem started. Any help appreciated.

I just had my thermostat and cv valve fixed in my van now its skiping so much i cant drive it. what can it be?

If it is running mad enough that you can't drive it, it should be kicking out error codes from the computer. Have you checked with an OBDII scanner to see what they are. That would be my first step in the troubleshooting process. If you don't have a scanner, most autoparts stores will read your codes for free - but make sure you write them down in the order they come off the scanner for later reference - they won't write them down for you.

I could go on and on about things to check, but it would waste your time and mine without some place to start.

I have a 97 gmc with a 350 vortech. the van will run very rough, idleing up and down when first started. temperature doesnt matter. van could be warmed up or cold and it doesnt matter. it may take several...

Sounds like an engine sensor problem (could be one of several) - start with an error code (DTC) check with a good code reader and follow up if there are any.

My 1997 dodge grand caravan has a miss when the van idles. When driving the van you dont even notice the miss. What could this be?

The coil pack or coil could be going bad.
If it has a miss, the OBD-II system can sometimes detect which cylinder it is in.
Check to see if any codes come up, even in the SES light is not on.
