Question about 2005 Saturn ION
I have an 05 Ion 4dr. w/67000mi on it. The other day I went to start it and nothing.... I had power to all gauges, but still no clicks or other sound. I came back inside and did some searching. Found out how to "reset the Passcode" Went back out and before I did anything turned the key and she started. First time that this has happened. Today, I go out and start it, (I have pwr windows) roll the windows up and drive to the store. Get to the store and go to crack the window alittle and nothing. None of the windows would work. Checked the fuse and it was blown. So, I replaced it. with another 30amp. worked for about 2mins and blew that one. Not sure if the two are related or not, but it seems odd to have two things go arwy back to back. Can you help me with this issue?
You have a dead short,I would replace the fuse, then go roll each window up & down to try to isolate which window is your problem.Could be a rubbed wire rubbing a window regulator arm(most likey)Ignition problems unrelated big problems with Ignition switches on ION's 2003-2007 I have replaced many. All windos are on the same fuse, should be a MaxiFuse.hope this helps

You have a short somewhere. Was the car ever in deep water?
What's a short? a short means electricity that flows thru a wire is also in contact with a ground or part of the chassis somewhere. This then blows the fuse.
It's an intermittent problem like you said...sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Intermittent problems like this could mean that 1 or more BARE wires are or is moving while driving.
Have you ever spilled any liquids on the the keypads or buttons of the power window?
If you have spilled liquids or rain got on the buttons then this can cause your intermittent problems and would need to be taken apart, relubricated and tested for proper operation, OR replaced.
