Thank you for your prompt answer. When applying the R134 refrigerant, where does it go? Can i do it myself. After applying the regfrigerant and if that does not help could it be the low pressure switch? If the low pressure switch is gone is it expense to repair.

Low refrigerant prevents the a/c pump from kicking on due to the low pressure switch. i would try to fill with a can of R134 (refrigerant) from the auto parts store. the low pressure switch may have gone bad.

hey, you can get a can with a nozzle to do it your self. there are two
fittings on the lines that attach to the air compressor (under the
hood). one is larger than the other, and the nozzle you get with the
refrigerant only fits on one. just follow the instructions on the can. (remember to have the car running and max a/c on)
after adding refrigerant until it is full, if the compressor does not kick on, you can cross the low pressure switch (with a paper clip or staple) to see if it kicks on.after determining that the refrigerant is full and the compressor will only kick on when the switch is crossed, then you know you have a bad switch.
CHECK FOR A BLOWN FUSE OR RELAY!!!!
I don't think it would cost more that $150 to get the switch changed out. damn shop labor is ridiculous!

Hot and Cold air from vents in 2001 Olds Aurora

The Aurora has dual-zone heating & cooling. Sounds like either the sensor or control know on the car is disconnected or not working. The passenger control is the knob on the passenger door. The sensor for it is under the glove box. I believe you need to remove the glove box hinge to see it. Could be the wires came loose or the sensor is bad. If anyone was working in either of these areas, maybe they forgot to reconnect one of them.

2001 Aurora - blows only 'warm' air

Your problem is either a clogged heater core, or the air temp control blend door actuator, in order to check for a clogged core feel the heater core hoses in the eng compartment, they should both be hot, one a little hotter than the other, if they are the core is ok and the blend door actuator needs to be replaced.
