Question about 1997 Ford Expedition
1996 ford explorer 5.0L, 4x4, auto I have no oil pressure and no oil leaks, can it be anything other than the oil pump? I kind of have the same problem except my oil pressure goes down to no pressure, then to normal and back and forth. What could tbhis be and if it could be the sending unit where might it be located? Thanks
Buy your self a oil pressure GAUGE that comes with a sending unit and save your self the headache trying to depend on what is commonly called a"Idiot Light" The gauge is accurate and if your oil pump is out, you will not get any pressure on the gauge. Also, if you want to tell for sure the pump is out, remove a valve cover, crank the engine over with the coil wire unpluged from the top of the coil and see if you have any oil coming out of the top of your push rods.
