Question about 2001 Ford Mustang
My 2001 mustang convertible top goes and I can hear motor. When I push button down for top to go down the top does not move and I don't even hear the motor for the top at all. Could this be a lose wire? Are there two motors for up and down? I would like to fix this myself if possible - any advise?
I've had a similar problem with my Mustang. What they did was replace the switch. I don't believe they come with 2 motors. But I would definitely check the wires and look for a loose wire that goes to the down relay. If you get a wiring diagram in the owner's manual, or even a repair manual, you should be able to find which wire.

Sounds like the switch is bad. Also check the relays. You might have one for up and one for down.
