1993 Dodge Dakota - stalls while driving, needs cooling to contin

I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota - 147,000 miles - I'll be driving and the truck will be running just fine, then it starts to sputter and spew, losing power until it finally just quits, then it won't start up again until it sits for an hour or so, then it runs just fine. This is an intermittent problem and has been going on for approximately 8 months. What's the problem?

What can cause misfire on start up of 1993 5.2 v8 dodge dakota?

I answered this question yesterday, with a suggestion that there might be moisture condensation on some ignition components. Try a water dispersant spray (WD-40 etc). See that there is no steam from a coolant vent releasing into the engine compartment or that you have not parked over a damp/wet area, if you can, try parking the vehicle overnight with the hood open and see how it goes the next morning.

Stalling and overdrive

IAC ( idle air control ) location. You need to be sure to clean pintle (pointed end) of motor as well as spray clean inside port where it comes out of. Careful not to lose small "o" ring on motor.

1993 dodge dakota v8 4x4 runs bad when engine get up to opperating temp.. the truck runs great for about two miles then starts to miss and has nopower. fuel pump went bad I replaced it. the crank sensor...

Sounds very much like catalytic is fouled, blocked.. Works fine when cold, then bogs down and even stalls when heats up. May start and idle but wont go when you press gas.
Did this come on worse over a couple three days? I would get the cat checked for flow.

My 95 dodge 3.9 dakota stalls when put into gear Ithink my cranksensor is hitting flywheel

It could be hitting the flywheel but it sounds like you have a short in a wire possible the crank sensor . You really need to start the truck and reach behind the motor and start shaking and pulling on the wiring harness. The wires themselves to the sensor may be bad. if that doent work try starting in neutral the shift to drive, if it still happens remove the sensor and check for rub marks. If so shim sensor with small thin washers.

Died while driving

while engine is running grab the wire harness that leads into the distributor housing with a pair of needle nose pliers and wiggle the wires!!
if the engine stumbles or stalls that is your prob!!!
go to parts store and get a magnetic pickup assembly!!
i think they call it something else but its the same concept, just different because it's a dodge thing!!!
