Can't locate correct tail light. All those shown are incorrect.
Tail light found is not the same shape...it is basically a half circle with one straight edge(producing basically 2 angles)...mine has three angles...just saw a Sunfire yesterday with the same tail light as mine, but every time we order one they send the wrong one and every picture I've seen on the web is the wrong one too!! My Sunfire is a 2003 coupe, quarter mounted tail light. I need the drivers side.

Likely there's a wire loose that's shorting to the chassis. The way I troubleshoot these is to put a lightbulb in the fuse socket, and then go under the dash, and move stuff around while somebody watches the light. When it goes on, you're close to the problem. Yeah, it's a royal pain, but that's the best way I know.
There are 2 screws holding the light assembly. You need a special star shaped screw driver to take them out. Then the assembly pulls out straight back. Next, the cover plate comes off exposing the bulbs. If I remember correctly, it is a 3057 bulb.
You have to remove the whole tail light to replace the bulb. Open the hatch. Then depending on which side (they're both the same) locate two plastic circles, one above the other. About six inches apart and about the size of a half dollar. There's a smaller plastic circle about the size of a nickle on the half dollar. Pull out the nickle sized piece. It's a plastic anchor going into the light assembly. Once you have both clips pulled out, the whole light will slide out to reveal the socket.
It's relatively simple, once you know how to do it.
Keep me updated as I'll check back and let me know how it went.
Your turnsignal flasher needs to be replaced with a heavy duty flasher.
also, your boat trailor wiring harness is grounded incorrectly or the harness pig tail is wired incorrectly.
this is why when you excite your tail lights and brake lights that your reverse lights come on and the reason that the lights are dimmimg is because your circuits are looking for the correct ground.
