It isn't that difficult, but it is a little involved. The very best thing you can do is run down to an auto parts store and buy a Chilton or Hanes service manual. It will give you pictures during disassembly and lead you through the process completely.

Could be that your rotors need to be turned (milled) to take out some of the unevenness. the pads on my last brake job never seated correctly and did not stop smoothly. I would have them checked for both conditions. If a shop did the work and this is what you got, they should fix it for free.

When coming to a slow stop my car jerks back and forth. front rotors have been turned and back rotors have been replaced. it stopped for about a day no continues to ****

It's possibly......

.....1st, out of parallel rotors.......They may need replacing ....not just resurfacing.

.......2nd, a bent hub....."the part the rotor sits on".

......3rd, a bent rim....... "try switching the rims and tires front to back.

.......4th, a bad belt in a tire(s)....."try switching the tires front to
back".

If it was smooth for a day after turning (resurfacing ) the rotors....I'd go with replacing the rotors first.
(use quality parts......not import China rotors)

How do you replace front rotors for 1997 Isuzu Trooper

you will have to pull the calipers and everything off in order to get to them. remove center cap on rotor and remove center nut, pull out bearings. rotor bolts onto hub possibly with 14mm bolts and nuts take these loose and rotor should seperate from hub.

Replacing front rotors

you do have to dissasemble the hubs because the rotors bolt on to them. if it is two wheel drive take the center caps off of hubs remove the spindle nuts and bearings pull complete hub assembly off and unbolt rotor from hub. if it is four wheel drive you will have to remove the lockout assembly be careful not to loose any parts from this it won't work when put back together.

New brakes still making grinding noise

Sounds like it is your hub bearings.  Jack the car up and check for play in the hub bearings.  More than likely this is your issue and the bearings need to be replaced.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for an honest rating.
