Question about 2006 Nissan Murano
I overhaulled the complete engine fitted new oil pump new bearings and piostons but still my oil light comes on and goes of then i realised the oil not coming to the oilfilter i opend again and cleand the engine block but still aving the same problem wat should i do please help
It's always difficult to diagnose at a distance but as long as you rebuilt the engine properly and there is a gasket between the oil pump and engine block, and the oil pressure release valve has been checked, I would suggest the following. I think it is possible that the oil pump need to be primed. Remove the oil filter and fill it up with some oil and then replace. If the car has an oil cooler, fill this up also by removing one of the pipes. Finally, with the spark plugs removed, turn the engine over on the starter motor for 2 minutes or until the oil light stays off - you should have no more problems after that. If the light will not go out then you need to go over everything you have done with the help of a manual.
