Question about 2005 Ford F-150
My truck 2005 ford f-150 was on on park and all of a sudden it turn off. I tryed to turn it back on and it wouldn't even crank to turn on. All the lights can turn on but my truck won't turn on or like I said crank. It seems as if it was locked.I turn the key to the front and I can't even shift to neutral. What do you suggest it is?
1)try jumping the battery.sometimes lights will work, but the battery will supply no where the current needed to start it.
2)the safety neutral switch thinks it is in gear,so will not let it crank over, there is a mechanical override by the shifter.pop out the tab ,insert the key and it will go into neutral.if the battery is good,it should start.

try checking you Park/Neutral safety switch. if that's faulty it will do exactly what you are saying and while you're at it test the ignition switch but i'm leaning towards the safety switch
