Wonder why it doesn't blow a fuse? follow the wires that get hot all the way back to power and ground yes wiring diagram would help you say clutch doesn't kick on or off, it pretty much has to be engaged or disengaged, prolly engaged if wires getting hot. if a/c blows cold, it's engaged.try unplugging compressor or removing belt or both and see if vehicle operates ok without it, then you know where to start

Spark plugs wire's can they get to hot and start melting from motor?

Newer cars run hot enough under the hood to cause belts, hoses and spark plug wires to break down more quickly than older cars, so yes, plug wires that are old may start to melt, especially if car runs hot or is used in hot climate. Wires should be changed every 3 to 5 years, or even more often in hot climates or high performance use. Use only OEM quality or better wires.

Blowed head gasket on Hyundai elantria head checked out ok put back together now won't start motor got hot enough to melt plug wires and radiator my daughter's care

You forgot to fill the cooling system didn't you? Or at best, you didn't 'burp' the system and get the air out. Perhaps not enough oil, which also cools?

If it was hot enough to melt the plug wires on the outside I dread to think what the valve or pistons look like. If it melted plastic on the outside, it must be hot enough to melt metal inside.

Does the compressor kick in when you turn it on?(if not it could be the a/c switch or the power to it, the a/c clutch wire connection, the clutch itself, or it's low on freon) You should hear the clutch kick in when you turn the a/c on. Low freon will also cause the clutch to not kick in. Remove the low-pressure switch plug and jump it with a piece of electrical wire. If the clutch kicks in, you just need to add some freon. Put the plug back where it was after you remove the jumper wire.
Is the belt on and adjusted to the right tension? If the belt is loose it won't cool as good as it should.
Check the freon in the system with a gage. If it's low, add some to the right amount and see if it cools. If it is overcharged, it will blow hot air, too.
The heater control valve slider should be all the way to the left so hot water isn't allowed to circulate through the heater core which would also make it blow hot air out the a/c ducts.
Good luck, they can be a pain, but with careful, step by step troubleshooting it can be fixed. There is plenty of information about a/c online to help you out. Try googling in: auto ac troubleshooting tips for more info. garcuda

I have a 95 chevy cheyenne. My ac pump doesn't

Have you checked to see if the system has enough freon ?
If the system is low or empty the low pressure switch will prevent power from going to the compressor clutch.

Ac clutch not kicking on

ADD Freon. It's a R134 system and the pressure is too low. Trust me add Freon and it will work fine. With a low amount of Freon if you jump the low pressure switch at the accumulator it will be very cold but will not have enough pressure to kick on the low pressure switch.

Ac not blowing cold, check main relays, has r12, jumpered and clutch kicks in. checked all fuses and relays swapped horn and ac OK... she has the push button ac controls.... thinking its something with...

there is a pressure switch on the ac drier that is the big silver can looking thing by the dash under the hood... if this goes bad the ac compressor will not kick on and the fans will not run when the ac is turned on... if the fans are not running at the same time of the ac compressor it will not blow cool..

1986 chevy S10 has no power (12v) at fuse box on the fuse for ac clutch. checked both sides of fuse to ground 00v. ac/heater fuse 12v both sides (fan) works fine

hello, check all fuses, and relays, make sure wires to ac is not broke or has been pinched, sometimes you can run hot wire from battery, to compressor, touch hot side of plug in on comp wire see if it will kick on, if so sounds like a short, if compressor dont kick on with hot wire run to it, tap the out side of comp clutch and see if it kicks on, these compressors will not kick on any way if they are low on freon, once freon is full it should work.

Can't get clutch to engage on air contioner.

Best bet is to recharge the system, and check your fuse blocks. You can purchase a recharge kit for approx. $30. Ensure that your fuses are good, and check the wiring for a short.

Trailblazer A/C clutch blows hot !

If it is cycling then its low on freon .. Try to put in one can and this will take care of your problem.. The cycling is due to being low .. The clutch is operated by a pressure switch .. when the clutch kicks in it pressures up but not enough freon will kick it back off and starts over again ... Thanks Jerry
