Both Fans work fine engine stays cool 160-180 Replaced the 3 fan ralays in engine compartment then replaced fan sensor(turns on the fans) under the thermostat. Fuse was blown and caused the light to come on after a while. Not sure what the puropse of this fan fuse was sines the fans worked without the fuse beside the fact that check engine light came on

This was my case as well, and this solved my problem by changing the 25 amp fuse for "Fan Cont #2&3" just below the fan relays

Looked it up in Chilton's, confirmed in

P0481 Cooling Fan 2 Control Circuit Malfunction

Each fan will throw a different code. See 3 fans listed for your model. Here's a link for the wiring schematic:

Best of luck.

Very loud howling noise coming from front driver's side; replaced the wheel bearing 3 times within a month, and the problem is still there.

Have you checked you tire closely.Change it with the one on the other side and see if the sound transfer to that side.

My 2003 chevy impala is overheating

Run the car with hood open for a while and monitor the fan to confirm the fan does come on when required to, maybe you have a blown fan fuse

Constant speed howling noise from underneath 2003 Volvo S60 (base)

Open the oil filler lid and see if the noise goes away - or lift the oil dip stick. It could be a gummed up PCV system that causes pressure in the crank case that "whistles" when the engine is running.

By opening the lid or dip stick, you're letting the pressure out and the whistling should stop.

If this is the issue, FCP Euro has a PCV replacement kit for about $350.

Chevy Impala 2003. Replaced cooling radiator cooling fan. Fan now works (driver side). Hooked up code reader. Received code for cooling fan removed code because fan was replaced. Next day engine light is...

is the passenger side coming on? it is possible that it is setting the code for different speeds also. may want to check the cooling fan relays.

I have code po481. how can i fix this so i can get my car inspected

The code is cooling fan fault. Could be bad cooling fan, bad sensor(s) (there's more than 1 for your fan. Have a good shop look at it for you, it can get pretty detailed for diagnosis.

Have a 2004 impala with howling noise from the front?

Here are a couple of things to check for. When driving turn car left and the right to see if noise gets louder then quieter. If so you will need a bearing hub. Also check power steering fluid in pump, if low you will get a howling noise. Looking for a noise is difficult task from a computer. Hope this gives you a starting point.
