All the lights come on and the radio will too. So it does not appear to be a battery issue. It seems like fuel is not getting to the engine. Is there a fule pump restart/relay switch somewhere??

Can be bad solenoid on the starter, bad battery or altenator. First thing I would do is check all the cable connections to make sure they are extremely tight and perfect contact. The slightest looseness or space will cause this. Battery, Altenator, and Starter can be tested for free at most part stores.

There should be fuel relay on or by firewall or fender.

Why won't our pilot start?

When you say a car won't turn over, that generally means it will not crank. You said it tries so I assume you mean it cranks and doesn't start. If that is the case, you could have a problem with fuel delivery or spark. It will take some good ole fashioned troubleshooting to prove or eliminate these items. Once you do, you will need to find out why you don't have what you need. For example, I have no fuel getting to my engine. There could be more than one reason for this. Electrical, mechanical. Maybe you have fuel but, no spark. You will then have to find out why. Can you check any of these items?

Engine wont turnover until after second or third try

Could be a bad connection at the positive or negative terminals of the battery. I had this problem on my 1997 Cadillac Deville where it would click, or do nothing, and if I toggled the starter through the ignition switch, then it would start on the third or fourth or fifth try.

I thought it was the security system, but it turned out that wire brushing the connectors at the battery (after they were removed) solved the problem beautifully.

Battery is charged. Went to start car at the end of the day, and there is a mechanical clicking sound (all dash indicators light) but the starter motor won't engage, and car won't turnover. Bad...

Do this to check if it's a bad battery, turn head light's on and try to start it, if head light go to dim or off, bad battery not holding a charge, if light stay on ok, then this will take two people tap on the starter kinda hard with a hammer or something you can reach it with while some one hold's to key to start, if it start's bad starter or trys to turn engine replace it.

1954 305 firebird Runs when warm Wont turnover when cold plz help

If the smell of fuel is there, check the plugs. Are they all firing.Look at the plugs and see if any look different to the others in color. If so check that cylinder.Check the lead to that plug.Is it ok.At idle, pull the lead on and off and see if the revs drop.If you get a zap,all is good:) Or use a heavy rag.Check all this first. You may have an 8 that is running on 6.Basics 1st.Hope this helps

If you're not hearing a click from the starter check for a starter relay. May be burned out! DO you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key on? If not something might have triggered your security system and locked you out!
