Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee orvis 4.0 automatic transmission and the speedometer does not all ways work when I first use my jeep, then it will start working after a mile or two and it seem to be ok until it sits for a while. This just started what do i need to do?????????????
The vehicle speed sensor and speedometer are one in the same on this model I believe. If one goes out it takes the other with it if its all electronic and not cable driven.

Sounds like the speedo sensor needs to be replace on the transmission. I've had a similar problem with my Jeep with the sopeedo not working then work after the tranny heats up then after a period of time the needle started to jump when at 100 km or 60 mph. I changed the sensor and the problem went away. Good luck!
