Suspect faulty torque converter or TCC solenoid. Most people think this is an engine issue, but most often when an engine stalls when shifting from Park to Reverse or Drive it is in fact a torque converter failure.

Sounds like the physical movement of the linkage is pulling or rubbing the harness. Get up under the dash and see how the harness is located.

Why does the daewoo shuts down when transmission is shifted to drive

you may have a faulty torque converter and it is loading down the engine to much to keep enough rpms to stay running or it could be and issue with the engine. more info is required. RPMs in park, does it do it if you use the throttle while shifting to drive, does it do it in reverse as well?

Starting in about the mid 1980's automatic transmissions changed from fluid shifting to electronic shifting. In other words, your shift is by an electronic solenoid controlled by the computer. There is no Shift cable gong to the transmission. Just wires. You need to look for a loose or dirty electronic connection to the transmission.

Be sure to check the vss (vehicle speed sensor) at the output shaft as it's a major input for both engine and transmission. This is the first one to suspect.

Hello,
sounds like the (VSS)vehicle speed sensor is bad causing the speedo not to work and the transmission is not shifting properly because the computer can not tell how fast the car is going, have your local mechanic fix it asap so toy do not do any engine or transmission problems.as far as the heater stopping,I dont thing they are related.I will get back to you on the blower have a good day DB

Engine Quits at 3000RPM

Sounds like the dealer is shooting in the dark at your expense. If it was the O2 sensor, it would throw a code. Ofcourse, Fords drivability diagnostics was bad back then. I don't remember exactly how the ignition is set up on them. I would be looking at the trigger sensor for your ignition and ignition module.
