Question about 1992 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes Benz 300 Class
I TRIED TO JUMP START THE CAR BUT GOT THE POLARITY WRONG AND EVER SINCE THE ABS LIGHT IS ON. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO TURN IT OFF?
Hello i;m an m.b. tech. and if that is all that happened your really lucky. on the straight six e class there is an over voltage rely that powers up the a.b.s. module as well as the c.i.s. and idle speed modules. usually if that relay is defective the idle is high and the a.b.s. light is on. the relay is located behind the battery in the engine compartment. there is a plastic cover that just pulls out behind the battery and it is a silver rely with a red lid and a 10 amp fuse. most likely the 10 amp fuse is blown. try replacing the fuse and see if the light goes out. if not replace the overvoltage relay.
