Need to replace crank window handle on my '93 Saturn-help

The crank window handle on my 93 saturn has stopped operating the window. previously it was possible to open and close but extremely stiff and hard to crank. Now it won't work at all. I checked online and the suggestion was replacing the crank but the first instruction said to roll down the window. Ha! what if you can't? Help. It's summer and I don't want to die of heat exhaustion!

FYI, On Saturn autos, I have found that access to the window crank mechanism is not from the inside. Instead access is obtained by removing the door's "skin"?, actually by pulling off the outer layer on the door and hope the clips don't break. (Luckily mine didn't break) but it was necessary to have a tech do it to the tune of about $100. Ouch. Thanks anyway.

My suggestion, is a dis-assembly, remove the connections/ operations holding the window and it should move up and down freely.

You are saying the engine cranks but does not start, right ?
Does it sound like it has compression ? If not could be a broken timing belt.

How to remove window handle on 1996 saturn sl

stick flat head screwdriver inbetween crank and interior of door, seperate and look carefully to see metal C clamp holding window crank on... remove that, usually using needle nose plyers or if you have a hook pick also works real well but thats a bit of a specialty tool. needle nose work but take patiance :) just grab ahold and pull, should not be hard to pull on, and make sure NOT to bend it, thats the only thing hold ing that on!

Where is the parking brake release located in a 1993 saturn?

on the S and L series saturns the parking brake release is the button on the end of the handle. if the button is gone you will need to buy a replacement handle and have it installed. there are plenty for sale on eBay. anything up to a 95 should work on a 93. yours is an S series as that is all they made until 2000.

How do i remove the inside driver door panel to a 99 saturn sl1 with crank windows my window is stuck down and i cant get the window crank off

the best part about having a Saturn is that you don't need to. have a look and your going to remove the outside panel around the door. the one that's painted the color of the car. the panels in thees are easily replaced and removed and this will allow access to windows. (kinda crazy and different than any other make but Saturn knows what makes seance and did it well.

How to remove window handle it is not power need to put window back on track and having trouble removing door liner

to remove a manual window crank, you need a dish cloth. there is a type of C-clip with the open end under the handle projection. so you use the dish cloth like you dry your back, but the crank under the handle projection is your back. back and forth and eventually the dish towel will snag the C-clip end and pop it off. the crank handle then slides off.

93 saturn sc1 fuel line release

All you should have to do is squeeze the plastic clips together, you may need a pliers. Another thing that helps is spray some WD-40 in there and rotate the filter on the line a little.

2002 saturn lw200--wiper blades dont park at bottom of windshied

You need to replace the crank arm on the motor and either replace the bracket under it or bend the tab back up on the bracket so the crank arm can contact it so the wipers stop in the right place.

Just purchased used 2002 saturn sc2...driver side power window stopped operating in down position...did not ''act up'' just stopped working out of the blue...???

you need to have the actuator replaced. While you are at it you may want the other side done also. If you think you can do it on your own, its not a tough job but that is the problem.

the timing belt on a 1.9l saturn is located under the valve cover on the left (passenger) side of the engine. this is the same on a DOHC or SOHC saturn motor. it is driven by the crank shaft and turns the cam shaft(s) in order to move the valves in the correct order. you should expect to pay at least 40 dollars for the belt itself. as far as installation... check you local service center.
