Question about 2000 Dodge Durango
My 2000 durango shuts off while im driving and than it takes hours to get it going but some days it works perfect...could it be my fuel pump
This could be a number of things. First thing is do you have a check engine light on? If you do, I would have the codes read. That will tell you exactly what is wrong. And it is free-cheap to have them read.
If anything electrical or sensor wise is bad, the check engine light should be on.
Otherwise it would be a vacuum problem or a clogged fuel filter, possibly a failing fuel pump will also cause this problem.

change fuel filter.first to see what happen .sound like fuel pump problems.if you had a fuel pump pressure tester.when it stall out again you could test your fuel pressure.because you dont want to buy a new fuel pump if its not the problem.they cost .$300.00 up to $700.00.if you take it to auto zone or advance auto they will scan it free.dealership charges $120.00 to scan it.if you scan it you save money from guessing.
