This engine is a gasoline engine, so it used Spark Plugs, only diesel engines use Glow Plugs as an aid in starting.

I have a 2002 mercury grand marguis, it will start and run for five minutes and shuts off. I was told sensor was telling computer ingine wasn't hot enough. What is sensor called and where is it located?...

First off is the check engine light on ? If it is you need to find out what codes are stored . What engine does the car have ? V-6, V-8 , 3.8 L , 4.0L ? There is no sensor that is going to shut it off if isn't hot enough ! Now if the car was over heating that would be a possibility . Sometimes when electronic components heat up they will shut the vehicle off , like ignition control module . You can try this after it shuts off , pull a spark plug wire and see if it has spark .An engine computer can also do the same .

I have a 1999 grand marguis and the engine light is blanking i just replace the intake manifold and the alternater and the battery is new everything good except for the fact that the car runs ruff it...

If the engine light is flashing then it has a severe misfire, have the engine light scanned and it will tell you which is the misfiring cylinder/s. I would advise you to replace the spark plugs also

Where are the spark plugs located on the 4.6 liter v8 mercury grand marguis engines

The coil packs sit on top of them. The basically go straight down from the top. They are practically under the fuel rails.
