Can;t be sure on this one except to tell you that you may have a bent or broken shift fork in the tranny. The only way to find out is to remove the shifter from the top of the tranny and see if you can see the fork and move it in and out of gear. If not the next step is to remove the tranny and take it apart. With the information you gave that is about all I can help you with unless there is more info you can give to me.

2003 Ranger Missing while driving. Stalling when idling

It sounds like a timing problem....First, have you had a tuneup lately? If not, parts may be corroded or burnt. The fuel filter may need to be changed...Next, the timing chain may need replacing...Check it out!

Is there a fuse or relay for electronicshifting 2003 ford ranger edge 3.0 and where please. My truck wont shift above 25mph

shift solenoids are controlled by the pcm. a blown fuse is most likely not your problem. could be just a speed sensor issue, or shift solenoid/internal trans. problems

1992 Ranger 4x4. Have a roaring noise when in 4th & 5th gear. I been told it is probably a bearing in the trans. If so, is it expensive to repair this. It changes as smooth as ever but when you reach...

Only thing I would do to confirm that, is get it on a hoist with someone inside, run it up to speed where noise is present and with an audioscope ( like a stethescope ) used by mechanics, listen and confirm that the noise is actually coming from transmission, and not elsewhere. Then get estimated from reputable transmission repair place before deciding.

My 1991 ford explorer,4x4,5 speed wont engage when i push the button

hey i had a 97 ranger with the same problem a while back, do u have a 4x4 light flashing on your dash? chances are the 4x4modual on the tranny is broken, they wear out eventually being exposed by the elements, you can probably pick one up from a scrapyard for a hundred bux, if not that then the switch might be broken or you blew a fuse

5-speed transmission making noise in 3rd and 5th gear

are u sure the alignment (side to side, up and down) of the trans on the bell housingis not out of spec, that will burn the bearings out very quickly.

The trans gearing is all the same, the rear end gear set is where final drive ratio is determined
