Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

No fast take offs and no passing nothing but hesitation

If I try to take off fast it almost stops like being starved of fuel or to much fuel. It runs great as long as you don't mash the gas to the floor you have to find the sweet stop. While driving normal and press the gas instead of accelerating all i get is hesitation to the point of deceleration.

Hi, this is common when the fuel filter and pump are stressed, due to clogs or dense debris. i recommend replacing the fuel filter and pump. i would also advise to replace the air filter as well. this will increase the air exchange.

To top it off, add a high grade fuel additive t the next fill up. this will scrub the fuel lines and injection system.

Replace all plugs and wires..

Why does my van stall, hesitate or stop when I sometimes take off from a dead stop?

If you have a carbeurator instead of fuel injection, the carb float may be bad. At fast stops or takeoffs, it stops the fuel supply. You ned to replace it and its usually not to hard unless you have to remove the holr carb to get at it.

Why is my jeep hesitating, going up a hill or when flooring it to pass?

nice facts, all, but no engine size options stated.
after all it's an ENGINE question.
you dont know whats there, and doing DIY> really?

one fact missing, and is key
does WOT power CATCH up
that is you move right foot fast and it bogs, we get that but what happens after the bog> ? more bog or it catches up.
if it dont catch up;, on hills, maybe fuel pressure low.
see?
at WOT there is no 02 sensors. nor TPS (enrich)
at WOT only you , then engine sucking air like mad the MAF at max voltage and if fuel pressure is low the car has endless bog.
see?

wot, = wide open throttle, use a hill to test, flat is useless .
max fuel is at max HP (max torque + max RPM both same time)

i own an 08 wrangler, 3.8L stick.
i just sold my 02,. with 2.4L I4, it was a bogging engine day one out of factory its a gut less I4. (only tubo can fix it)
2.4 or 4.0 L.
ive own all of them 4 and 6cyl.

How do i shut off my 1990 f350 diesel truck when my ign is broken where is the fuel cut off switch. I can't shut my truck off. please help

I'm looking at a picture which I don't have any way to send to you so I'll describe as best I can. Standing in front of the truck, the injector pump is just to the right of a rad hose. I can se what appears to be throttle cable and linkage on the left side of the pump and a fuel line going into the center of the pump. On the immeciate right side of that fuel line are 2 electrical fittings mounted front to back. The front one, which seems to have 2 wires in this photo, is the fuel shut-off solenoid. There is nothing to tell me what the back one is and there is nothing to tell me what the electrical plug-in on the front of the pump to the left of the fuel line is either.
Failing this simply pinch of the fuel return line. This will stop the engine. Hope this helps.

Hesitates at 30-40mph-feels like its starving for fuel -happens occasionaly-

Try changeing the fuel filter, then the fuel pump, if that helps then you will need to do a top engine clean to fix the issure. computer can't change timing with to much carbon build up nd throws al sensors off.

Sounds like it is starving for fuel...the other guys sound right...check your fuel filter and fuel pressure...if the filter is nearly stopped up the pump would build pressure which would "push" past the filter and make it feel more powerful...then as the pressure drops it starts to starve again until the pressure builds up enough. Also, with the vehicle parked and running, get someone to rev it up while you feel the air coming out of the exhaust...if it isn't a good amount of pressure coming out of the tailpipe, your converter may be stopping up. be careful not to get burned by the exhaust though.

If i stop or let idle i feels like its being starved for fuel.. turn off the engine and start it again it runs fine till i stop again. Just replaced the fuel pump a week ago and has been running fine.

Mine did that to me about 4 months ago. I started by changing the fuel filter it ran great for a month. but by doing that it released all the pressure off of the fuel pump which then went out. If you run your vehicle below 1/4 tank it starves the fuel pump. The pump needs that fuel because; The fuel is the lubrication for the pump. Running your tank down consistently over a period of time will short the pump out faster.
