Question about 2003 Lexus ES 300

1 Answer

A/c on 2003 lexus is intermittent

A/c works. I do not turn it off. About once a week, the a/c lights starts flashing and the compressor stops. Blower continues to operate. By alternately pushing the off button, the auto button, the a/c button, it will re-engage and operate normal.

2003 Lexus ES 300 the A/C light flashes and no cooling

The flashing light tells you there is a problem in the system.
A mechanic would check to see if the system is charged with freon then check the electrical circuit for the compressor.

05 tc. A/C blows hot then cold. Didn't blow cold

The A/C pump ismade of three seperate components. You are correct in it being electrical, to some degree. The compressor is self turnes, & in turning moves the freon thru the condensor, dryer, evaporator, & condensor. With the engine off, you can grab the clutch on the compressor, & turn it manually. Now, to your question. When you turn on your A/C, it sends a signal to one of 3 parts on your A/C compressor. The 1st signal, is a charge to the magnet (not its nomenclature name) that pulls the clutch, quickly, into the compressor shaft, so it can start turning. Now as this signal, is working,on an intermittant basis, 1 your clutch has been damaged, not always engaging fully, causing disc wear. The activating magnet, works intermittantly, this too, strains the electrical wiring, going thru the compressor to the magnet. Now the compressor works, but, 2 components, have gotten very hot, by intermittant action. To remove them, if "fused", will be labor intensive. Thanhaving a "sealed" system, dis-assembled, then re-assembled on a mechanics work table. No matter how hard I try its never completely clean......the repaired compressor can allow harmful contaminates into a system that works, with one part not working. Once contaminates are in the system......all the components can be damaged. The mechanic, is giving you the most cost efficieant repair, that will last longest, with least possiblility of failure.

Intermittent problem, when security light flashes my pickup will turn over but will not fire

This is a GM problem if the security light flashes leave the ignition turned to the on position WAIT for the light to stop flashing. Turn ignition off and try to start If this does not work do the same thing again Your having a problem with the ignition ..it may need to be replaced

Intermittant problem. Goes and comes. No

...It could be an icing issue; however, my experience leads me to tell you that the AC compressor revolution sensor is the likely culprit.

2003 yukon engine shut down wont crank

Theft light on indicates a problem with passlock. You have a problem with the key or ignition switch. When I worked I replaced a lot of ignition switches, so i would say that would be your problem.

Give this a try it might work for you........
When you put the key in ignition, turn it on (not to crank) dos the security light start flashing? If so, you need to either wait 15 minutes or wait with the key on until it stops flashing. Once it stops flashing, try to start again. You should get to try it 2 times before the passlock will lock up again.
