Have you tried tuning the key upside down? or check to see that someone was not trying to steal your vehicle and broke something off in it? sometimes keys now days look the same on top and bottom and if it is upside down in some cars it will not go in also do you have a seperate key for the doors and ignition? if so u could have the wrong one and one last thing if you have more than one VW vehicle make sure u have the right key... other than that call the dealer.

Possible solution - This happened to me and my battery was dead in my key fob and also I needed an ignition switch because a piece on it was broken which therefore wouldn't turn to start the engine.

Stuck eldorado key in DTS ignition now car won't start

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

Somebody tried to steal your car maybe? Sounds like you need to replace the ignition lock cylinder.

Why won't my 2008 Chrysler Aspen start?

You have 2 issue going on. Its not seeing a valid key,and it is starting with the remote.Your remote entry key did it happen to get wet? Or moisture get in? Lock the vehicle up using the key. enter the vehicle using the key fob. After the vehicle unlocks you have 60 seconds to enter the vehicle insert the key in the ignition start it up.Your remote start up is out of step.

Securetylightison and wont start have fuel/spark trys to run then stops cycle key then start then shuts off admidiatly

your car was build with an anti-theft devise from GM, inside the ignition key is a micro-chip, when you insert the key in the ignition cylinder, the sensor inside the cylinder will measure the resistance of that micro-chip inside the key, if there is a match the engine will start, if no match the computer will think someone is trying to steal your car & shut it off.
try using another ignition key (spare key) if this doesn't work most likely the tiny wire inside the ignition cylinder is broken therefore the ignition cylinder will need to be replaced.
