Question about 1999 Ford Explorer

Open Question

Switch inside truck for headlights has 2 positions: Parking lights then head lights. Turn it to first position and parking lights come on=good. Turn it to next position and headlights are supposed to come on; they don't=bad. The fuses (#4&8) are good. The relay is good. If I push the blinker handle forward the bright lights are supposed to come on-they don't. if I pull it towards me the regular headlights come on but I must hold the handle towards me the entire drive.(no bright lights at all.)

SOURCE: Blows fuses when parking lights are turned on. Headlights work fine even running lights.

If it only happens when you turn the switchto the parking lights then it is most likely the swich that is the problem. Light swich failure appears to be a common fault with fords

Headlights both went out last night. High beams work if you hold the passing switch back. Parking lights work in the parking position, but not in the headlight position. All turn signals, back up, and

check your headlight fuse with the switch in the on position. easiest way I have found to rule out a relay is to simply switch it out with another relay.

Parking lights will not turn off

Power to the parking lights goes thru the multifunction switch. Power flows the EXT LP fust to the MF switch and then to the parking lamps. Sounds like a bad MF switch.

1994 Pontiac Grand am Tailights all work normaly except when the headlights are on and then they don't work at all?

Could be the headlight switch.
The switch has two sets of contacts for the parking lights, the park position and headlight position.
You may need to check the circuit at the switch to see if you are loosing power when the switch is moved from park to head.

I have no tail lights

I had this very same problem on a GM truck at work the other day, I believe it to be a bad headlight switch because I cycled the switch between headlight and parking light positions, I had tails when I had the switch in the parking light position and not in the headlight position, changed the switch and everything worked, Made my day!

I just bought a 2003 ford mustang and i'm not sure how to turn the head lights on.

The headlight switch is on the dash. It's a 2 position push/pull switch, the first position is the parking lights and the second position is the head lights, it also controls the dimming function by rotating it left or right.
