The wiring harness under the dashboard on the driver side on some of the tarus' rub against the brackets. it is hit or miss what the symptoms are when the wiring shielding is breached. Careful inspection if the wiring harness could reveal the cause of your issues. The solution may be as simple as some electrical tape and a couple tie wraps. good luck

Not the Key but the ignition itself. Replace teh ignition module where the key is inserted to start the vehicle and that should resolve the issue.

Battery is shot, buy a new one (possibly get some warranty credit if it is new enough). I just had a co worker ask me about the same problem today and the dealer replaced his battery in his Jeep. The new maintenance free batteries only last approximately 5 years and they don't give you a heads up like they use to in the old days. I have started cars in the morning and noticed that they start a little hard that day. The next time I try to start it, the battery is dead.

Back in the day, I think we had a little more warning because we had to crank the engines longer. With the electronic ignition and fuel injection the modern engines crank so easy, so we don't put a lot of strain on the batteries and when they go they go.

The battery charge light comes on when the alternator is not generating electricity therefore there is nothing recharging your battery so it goes dead. This could be because your alternator is worn out or a wire broke but it is more likely that the fanbelt broke and is not turning the alternator.

Check connections on the starter. If those are good you could have a starter relay going bad. If its not that check your body grounds under the hood and the ground from the engine to the frame. Hope its one of the easier solutions for you. Please rate if this helps. Thank you

Security warning is on and car wont start now

The security light being on is why your vehicle will not start. You need to get the codes to find out what is causing the problem. What you can do is when you try to start it and let go of the key but leave it to the run position the security light will come on and stay on for ten minutes. When it goes off turn the key off and then try to start it.The theft module relearns the key and it should start. Then you can take it to a repair shop and get it fixed. You can call ahead and make sure there is a shop that can diagnose and repair this problem.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Battery dead, key stuck in ignition.

I have had the same problem with my daughter's car. She inadvertnetly left the key in the on position and the battery went dead. Apparently an electrical current is neded to withdraw the key. I put a battery charger on the car for several hours and everything worked fine after that.

How long does it take before it goes dead again? A few seconds? Days? Is the battery old?
