I own a 2005 Avalanche. Had the same problem. Turns out there is a computer module which controls the Stability control and braking system. It is located under the drivers seat outside cockpit and is exposed to the elements. The computer is about $600 and requires about 2 hours labour. It then has to programmed by a GM dealer to match your vehicle.(another $150) Good Luck.Hope this helps.

IS IT POSSIBLE YOU ARE HEARING THE ABS MODULE ACTIVATING WHEN COMING TO A STOP? IF SO YOU MAY HAVE A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR ISSUE, USUALLY IN THE FRONT END. THERE IS POSSIBLY A RUST BUILDUP UNDER THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. REMOVE THE RUST, SPRAY SOME PRIMER ON THE AREA AROUND THE SENSOR HOLE. THEN PUT SOME HEAVY GREASE ON THE SENSOR HOLE AND REINSTALL THE SENSOR. BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE SENSOR IT MAY HAVE A RUST BUILDUP INSIDE THE HOLE ABOVE THE O-RING.

Would service stability track be something covered under manufacture warranty for a 2012 chevrolette impala?

The dealership would be the best source to determine what is causing the light to go off and determine if it would be covered.

Stability track

This is a common problem with GM's. The TPS sensor goes bad in the throttle body. Throws out a message to service Stabilitrac. Not SO!!!
The kicker is that the whole throttle body has to be replaced because the TPS sensor is actually part of the throttle body!!! Costs around $250.00 for aftermarket.
