Question about 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
Hello,I am OLiver Pellegrino from Italy, My 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 4x4 VIN: Has the following problem; Sometimes appears the message on board computer: Error Stability Track, Error Stability Control, and then tthe engine warning light work on.Also, when appears this message, there is a strange shcok in the trasmission, in fact for this problem after 55.000 miles, I have just change one compete trasmission.PLease let me know, what is the sensor or the chip, or why, sometimes appear this message.I have ridden the owner service, but the case reported on it, is not my case.Also, here in Italy we haven't a good start scan tool able to make a correct diagnosis of the vehicles
Check your wheel speed sensor (s) could have a bad or broken wire causing these issues.

Press and hold the SELECT/RESET
control switch to select SYSTEM
CHECK when “SYSTEM CHECK /
HOLD RESET” is displayed in the
message center. Selecting this
function from the SETUP MENU
causes the message center to cycle through each of the systems being
monitored. For each of the monitored systems, the message center will
indicate either an OK message or a warning message for two seconds.
Pressing the SELECT/RESET control switch cycles the message center
through each of the systems being monitored.
The sequence of the system check report and how it appears in the
message center is as follows:
1. OIL LIFE RESET
2. CHARGING SYSTEM
3. WASHER FLUID
4. DOOR AJAR
5. EXTERIOR LAMP
6. BRAKE SYSTEM
7. PARK BRAKE
8. MILES TO EMPTY
9. FUEL LEVEL LOW (will only display if 50 miles or less to empty)
To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
[approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the
1. Enter SYSTEM CHECK to display
“OIL XXX% RESET IF NEW”.
2. Press SELECT/RESET control
switch to display “HOLD RESET IF
3. Press and hold the
SELECT/RESET control switch for
more than 2 seconds. Oil life is set
to 100% and “OIL CHANGE SET TO
100%” is displayed.

I own a 2005 Avalanche. Had the same problem. Turns out there is a computer module which controls the Stability control and braking system. It is located under the drivers seat outside cockpit and is exposed to the elements. The computer is about $600 and requires about 2 hours labour. It then has to programmed by a GM dealer to match your vehicle.(another $150) Good Luck.Hope this helps.
