Question about 2001 BMW 325i
With everything I have researched I need to replace my instrument cluster control unit located in the passenger side of my dash. my speedometer doesn't function... but my cruise control does. Is there a good way to find a replacement unit shy of taking it out to find out the model number?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You need to perform a static discharge on the vehicle. Remove both cables from the battery and touch the two cable ends together(you may need a jumper wire) for a few minutes. Reconnect the cables to the battery and check it out.

Common problem on BMW's apparently...there are on-line repair services but they are NOT cheap...100-300 bucks. Tough to fix yourself...unles you are a highly skilled techie!
