SOURCE: 1995 subaru wont start the starter and battery are brand new,

Iwould check where the grounds at the motor and body. Make sure there is no rust built up under them. Sometimes just loosening and retightening them is enough to make a good contact. Good luck and have a good day.

SOURCE: My 2002 explored will not start. It don't crank at

the wiring connection from the relay or the relay itself might be the problem. locate the relay and turn the key start it then if you hear a click sound on the relay meaning its functioning, but the contact from batt to starter may be damaged.try to jumper it.

SOURCE: 2002 ford explorer wont start even after new battery...

Before you go changing out the starter check for a burnt out fusible link going to the starter it will look like a wire but acts as a fuse and they burn in two just like a fuse. The symptoms you just describe are those of a burnt fusible link.

My subaru forester 2002 is suddenly not starting in cold weather.

Inspect solenoid connection on the starter. Look for corrosion and that its not loose or broken. Also inspect the wiring connector fo the same issues mentioned above. Then try starting it again. I recently had an issue with a 2005 Impreza which had a poor connection causing it not to start.

I have a 2002 polaris magnum 325. I put a new starter, ignition switch, relay that goes to the starter and a new battery. It will turn over, but won't start. The starter is engaging also. It will pull...

Since you can start with the pull starter, and not when you crank with electric starter, assuming this machine has electronic ignition it is quite possible that the battery lead in not making good contact with the battery and there is a big voltage drop low enough to affect the ignition system due to the high current drawn by the starter. Try cleaning and retightening both battery leads and the ground lead. Also check the power cable running to the ignition system. Also check for corrosion near the ground connection on the chasis.

sounds like starter motor/solenoid problem, try hitting the starter motor with a hammer , a couple of sharp hits may loosen off the bendix if this is the problem, if starts replace the starter motor

2002 Forester Subaru won't start.

Sounds like a winding has gone down on the starter, and if the starter stops on that winding, just the solenoid clicks, when it does it tap the starter body a few times and try to start it again, it can just move the rotor enough to get it to start, but it will need a new starter

2002 WRX won't start

Could be lack of current from the battery, corrosion on the terminals, bad ignition switch, bad neutral safety or clutch safety switch, bad solenoid, bad starter brushes, bad starter field, bad engine ground strap, or siezed engine.

For a quick check, turn the headlights on as you try to crank.

If they do not dim, then current never getting to starter field.
If no click as well, then not getting to starter solenoid.

If they dim but come back when you stop, then battery good and either starter or engine is bad.

If they dim and don't come back, then battery is bad.

Sounds like a bad battery connection, either on the battery, or the starter or engine ground, or just a poor battery.

Subaru Legacy 98' Outback Legacy won't start when hot

I have the same car - same problem. Too hot or too cold and then just another once and while for good measure :(
I've had the battery checked and is good. Is it likely to be the starter?
