I doubt the lighter itself is the problem, as it has only 2 wires and no continuity unless you plug something in it. You probably just blew a fuse when you unscrewed it cause both wires touched (short circuit). Just find the fuse for the instrument cluster and lighter/accessories and check it, it should just be burnt and needs replacing. Just make sur to isolate the wires from one another, and any piece of metal around it, like the dash frame, radio, etc. Hope this helps!

Cigerette lighter has no power

mine doesnt either

I will first check there really is no power at the lighter with a meter. If none, I will find out what fuse the lighter goes through and check that (that is the most likely point of failure). I the fuse is intact and there is 12V there, I will access the back of the lighter to check the wiring.

do not change the batery. If the car still runs fine the problem is a blown fuse. Find the fuse panel, On the back side of the fuse panel cover is the fuse location chart. Look for the cig lighter fuse it is probably 20 amp

Cigarette lighter won't work fuse ok lighter base ok

I would put a red volt meter lead on the middle and a the black lead on the outside. If it checks above 12 vols, the lighter itself is bad. If no voltage is present, you have to check all the positive wires back to the battery. If those are all working, you have a bad ground.

find what fuse is, You have to follow the wires with patience, from the fuse box to the item, you have a short circuit look if the horn + wire is not touching metal outside or inside the steering column, have You replaced the steering wheel? if the same fuse covers the dome light, take it a part and see if the + wire is touching the inside of the roof, plastic melted, or look at the on and off Dome switches at both doors, look for the positive wire on radio, antenna and main light switch, yo can disconnect every item and check any time hot wiring that fuse with copper wire every time, to You are sure
