Is there spark and fuel pressure?.....disconnect one spark plug and put a spark tester to verify.,if there is spark, then remove the air intake hose from the throttle body and spray fuel into the throttle body,if the engine starts, then dies, you have a fuel delivery problem.if you have hit something, check the wiring to the fuel pump, which is in the fuel tank.if you have 200000km,chances are the fuel pump is no good.sometimes banging on the tank will get it to start up can also disconnect the inlet to the fuel filter using what is called a line wrench .if fuel sprays out, there is pressure there.wear glasses, fuel is under quite a bit of pressure.

2000 nissan maxima won't fire when trying to start. it turns over but won't fire. it started once and ran but won't start again

sounds like it might be flooded. Try and remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse block that is just in front of your left knee. While it is out crank the car and see if it wants to start and hold down the gas pedal all the way and then relase it and back and forth and once you get it to run have the fuse ready in your hand and in front of the spot to install it. and then keep the rpm's up with the gas pedal until the smoke clears out behind the car.

My nissan xterra 2000 v6 crank but will not turn over. The batterie is good all fuses work and fuel is good also. How likely is it that it could be my timing belt?

There are a few things that could cause this, so start with the simplest thing first. I would recommend that you check the fuse panel and make sure all of your fuses are good, remember that there are two fuse panels, one inside the cabin of the vehicle, and one under the hood. If the fuses are good, then you are looking at a faulty cam sensor, crankshaft sensor, O2 sensor, or the PCM.
All of the above can cause the inability to start. I would have a diagnostic ran on the vehicle, this will take the guess work out of it, and will save you a lot of money.

My 2000 xterra just stoppped running going down the road like it just turned off. The battery is good turns just doesn't fire up. The fuel filter is not clogged. The fuel pump is working...

I use to have a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder XE with the 3.0 engine automatic transmission. It ran fine when I baught it then started having hard to crank or dieing going down the road syndrome. Very simular to your problem. I had a Nissan technician friend in Tennessee and he told me that the distributor goes bad it will behave that way. Usually the problem can start off slow like mine where it would hard to start and die or just go completely out. I recommend replacing the distributor. Mark the shaft alignment before removing the old one and install the new one aligned up the same as the old one was. Just an added tip the 3.0 Litre engine block is the same as the 3.3 litre engine and theres alot of guys dropping these 3.3 engines in the old 1980 model 300Z cars! I own a 2001 Xterra so feel free to ask anything! Harlan or

Xterra car quit running. had no spark @ distributor. replaced crank sensor and got spark. no gas pressure. replaced fuel pump, new one do not work. no power to it. checked fuses/relays, no luck. ran...

Yes, there is fuel pump relay, which is generally located on the passenger side kick panel. But in your case, the fuel pump relay on 2002 model Xterra is indeed located under the dash around the steering wheel, but no you don't need to remove the cover just lay in floor and you can see it, it will slide off a bracket and you can remove and replace it.
Good Luck!

Have a 2000 grand prix gt an hit a road bump an the car shut of now it as no fuel presure

Fuel pump cutoff switch activated. The owners manual can tell you the precise location. Some GM's are in the trunk others under the dash. It disabled the fuel pump in case of an accident.

Link has a photo, hope this helps.

I ran my 2000 xterra dry, put gas in the tank and it still wont crank. where is the fuel reset button located?

There is no fuel reset button. You either burnt out the fuel pump relay or burnt out the relay and fuel pump.
