What causes both cooling fans to not run?

Hi Naomi , there is a lot involved in the control of the cooling fans on your vehicle ! There are three fuse's , three relays an a fan control unit !
1. radiator fan main relay , located in underhood relay box A
2.condenser fan relay , located in underhood relay box A
3.radiator fan relay , located in underhood relay box C
4.Cooling fan fuse # 47 20amp. underhood fuse / relay box
5.condenser fan fuse # 50 20amp in underhood fuse / relay box.
Any one of these could cause them to not work, rather then just replacing parts an wasting money you should take it to the repair shop !

I have a 2003 jaguar x type 2.5 the cooling fans not working and over heats

cooling systems are the same for all vehicles, depending on years ,, in your case all you have is a fan, relay, and sensor, controlled by a circuit with a fuse, so , always check fuses first, if bad replace,, if not, unplug the fan at the connector,, use a jumper wire to supply the fan with 12 volts direct from the battery ,, if it starts, its not the fan, if it doesn't the fan needs replacing, if that checked out to be good,, backtrack to the fan relay, ( usually the problem) locate it in the under the hood fuse box, it will be listed on the tag on the underside of the fuse box cover ( or in the owners manual itself) you should have a couple of the same relay in this box,, ( Jaguar uses the same relay for a number of items) locate the one for the fan, and switch it out for one that runs a system you know is working, start the vehicle,, and let it run until the thermostat opens,, watch the temp gauge don't let it move up to high. soon after , the fan should start , if by now the system isn't working, its going to normally be a short in that circuit, and would have to looked at by a trained professional with knowledge in electrical circuits

I have changed the radiator and thermostat but my cooling fan fails to go on my cooling fan to 1997 honda civic fails to go on after Ichanged my radiator and thermostat

Have you checked the fuse for the cooling fan? If not the fuse you are looking for is in the fuse box located under the hood in the engine compartment. I gave you a picture below of the layout of the fuses and the fuse that you need to check will be in the number 15 position and should be a 20 amp fuse. I hope this helps and good luck.

Which fuse goes to the cooling fan

there is fuse and a relay for the cooling fan.just turn ignition on and test all the fuses(some fuses will only work with the system on like headlights/tail lights).check the relay in the relay box(panel)under the may have a bad cooling fan,you don`t say why your checking the fuse.if you unplug the connector at the cooling fan and jumper a ground wire and power wire it should work.if not then you need a cooling fan motor or assembly.

Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

2003 malibu cooling fans don't work. I have replace the relay and the temp sensor and still nothing. When ever I disconnect the temp sensor the fans come on and work normally, but later in the day I see...

okay pull the temp sensor connector ( disconnect it) and turn car on if the fans run then its the temp sensor.... part # wt3000.
Theres also 3 relays that turn the fans on in the fuse box cooling mode fan relay @15 which is part number 7234. and cooling one # 1 which is 3604, and cooling fan #2 which is 7236.
I have the same car...give me a fan clutch cooling system anyway of the week. simple and efective no problems.

What is a cooling fan s/p (relay)?

They are all in the fuse box under the hood the relays dont work in a way where one controls one fan and one controls another fan they run the fans in series for low speed and paralel for high speed. They are numbered 37,39,40 you would have to replace them all to see if that takes care of your problem
