Question about Scion Cars & Trucks
My 2006 Scion XA suddenly started jerking and loosing power then the check engin light came on and stayed on. But after a few hundreded feet or so the problem went away but the light stayed on. What could cause this to happen?
Possible miss fire in spark plugs, if you can take it to a parts house and ask them to plug in their obo meter and read the code, that will let you know what is wrong

2002 7.3, until Temp gauge reaches 1/4 warm, if driving the check engine light comes on, if I leave off throttle check engine light goes out, once engine is up to Temp all runs fine, motor only has 111,113 on it

You have to have the DTC pulled to see what made the light come on , ECU is a common problem on this vehicle,it is covered for 8 years/80,000 miles

SOURCE: 2005 Scion XA Check Engine
The check engine light means that something is going wrong with the engine, electric, or emissions part of your vehicle. it will need to be hooked to a scanner to find out what the trouble codes are. Usually Autozone will scan and give you the codes for free. get them and post them here and i will try to help you with the diagnostics
