Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler
This problem just started on my 1995 Jeep 2.5L YJ (120,000 Miles). It is a tapping sound that starts when I first start the jeep. The sound goes away after the jeep warms up. But, if turn the jeep off for 15 min. The sound is back again. I have located the sound in the back/bottom rear crankcase/oil pan. Anyone had this issue before. Also I had a 1975 Jeep CJ where the rod bearings started to go bad, but they did not sound like this. The sound just got worse until the engine failed. Thanks
Probably just a hydralic lifter tapping when cold. Change the oil in it and let it warm up before taking off. Be sure and use the correct oil, 10w/30 or whatever the manual says for your climate.
