Two items to look at: Throttle position sensor, $45-50. PCV valve, $4-5. Either will, at times, produce problems with idling.

SOURCE: 2000 monte carlo dim lights stopped working

First check the bulbs, If the bulbs are o.k. It might be the dimmer switch. I think on a 2000 monte the dimmer switch is built into the multi-function switch.

SOURCE: My heater just stopped working in my 2002 monte

your heater core is clogged due to the dexicool **** antifreeze GM uses. Your radiator is probably clogged up too. There is one trick you might try. Its. called a reverse flush. There are two small hoses aprox. 1 inch in diameter that go into the firewall under the hood on the passenger side. Take off both hoses , stick a high powered hose on the nossel (like at the car wash) and flush it out in both directions. All kinds of **** is going to fly out so stand back. You should also have your radiator flushed

Two places to start. First clean the throttle body/carb. Brake clean and a tooth brush. Clean inside as best and deep as you can, clean the back of the throttle plate and were it seats the most. It will take a few seconds, start the car up and spray the cleaner in the throttle as you rev it up. Then after that, I would replace the engine coolant sensor.

Monte carlo blows cold air and overheats

It really runs hot within a minute of starting ?
An engine that runs hot in a few minutes is often having problems with the water pump or a blockage in the cooling system. The thermostat does not open until 195 degrees which takes 5 or 10 miles of driving.
During that time, the water pump should be circulating coolant in the block and the heater hoses.
A leaking head gasket should be putting extra pressure into the cooling system, and-or dumping coolant into the cylinders which would come out the exhaust pipe. But it should still take a few minutes for the engine to reach the boiling point of 240 degrees.

I have a 01 chevy monye carlo that when i start the car and i turn on the heater it make this very loud noise and after a few mins it stops

It sounds like the fan for the heaters / blowers is shot. the bearing inside the motor will be whats making the noise, it shouldnt be expensive though.

Hope that helps

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo with a sunroof. For the past few weeks, the carpet is soaked, there is some water on the driver's seat, and the headliner is wet on the driver's side. I have sealed the roof seams...

the sunroof drains in the foremost front of the sunroof channels is a very likely place to start. blow through them with compressed air and see if they are clean. if you park under trees or other shrubbery this is very likely. if the channels are not cleaned regulary with each car wash. this can happen. give this a shot. cheers

the fan is electric and if the car is hot the fan will stay on to cool the engine it should shot off in less than five minutes.
