2001 Daewoo Lanos immobiliser not working

The 'wand' style immobiliser (factory fitted) is not working. The light is flashing on the dash, but it won't seem to pick up the wand at all. We need to override the immobiliser in order to take it to the dealer, who will remove it completely. How do we do this??

thanks - it's second hand and not purchased though Daewoo, so we didn't get anything, just the little wand, with no obvious way to change batteries etc etc. We ended up paying $55 (AU) and having it removed completely.

You should have an override number which you can then use to disarm the immobiliser. im not 100% sure on the process but im sure your dealer should be able to help

I have a 1998 model daewoo lanos and my indicators arent working tried the switch combo... and the fuses and relays what else could this be do u think

check the flasher unit,In this model it should incorporate relay and flasher in one unit under dash.I will have to check my files for what it looks like or I have a Lanos coming in a few days.
Try the hazard switch to test if this works still, and all bulbs ok.
Also when you say 'aren't working',does this mean they light but don't flash or don't light at all both side.Let me know your findings.

Defroster does not work 2001 daewoo lanos

On this year vehicle the flapper should be vacuum controlled. You may want to look at the vacuum lines going to and from the vacuum canister in the engine compartment. If it will change from floor to dash but not defrost then you may have a failed vacuum line or diaphragm in the dash from the selector.

2001 daewoo lanos immobiliser problem car wont start. entered radio security code. immobiliser dash light is still on.

Radio code has no bearing on the immobiliser at all.

Normally it is down to the key not recognised. Are you using the same / usual key as before? If not then try original or another key as it may be the transponder in the key you are using.

If same key or no joy then remove the lower Black plastic steering cowls on the column (normally 3 or 4 screws) you will expose the barrell assy, on the end of this you'll see the transponder pick up ring. Disconnect from loom, apply silicone grease to pins and reconnect then try starting.

If still no joy, disconnect positive terminal off the battery, touch the lead to an earth point for 2 to 3 seconds to defuse and reset ECU, reconnect and try again.

If still noy joy you will need a garage as special reading equipment is required.

Regards

Lloyd

We bought a car secondhand privately,it has a after market immobiliser fitted, we were not given a immobiliser key naturally the people not answering phone, we have fitted a new battery (old one faulty)...

yes you will have to remove it, remove the cover on driverside under the dash, you will see wires coming down the steering column, the main wire may be yellow or red, you will see wire cut and split into mobilizer remove and connect wire back together, they will be the same color, the rest of the wiring can stay as long as the starter wire is reconnected.

I have a daewoo lanos 1349cc se i have put new piston rings had the valves re-cut and re-ground fitted new valve stem seals new hydraulic tappets replaced oil pump also had cylinder head skimmed and fitted...

Check your key immobilizer, i had a similar problem with my Lanos.
If you turn the key and your red light keeps flashing in the centre console your imobilizer is not turning off.
