Any air trapped in the line would go out through the injectors. only way you have air is if the fuel pressure regulator is broken. if it is the car will rev up and down while idling

Testimonial: "Ok so should I replace the injectors or get the air out somehow? I was told I need to have 4 fuel injectors replaced. Is this something that's needed or can it be put on the back burner for a little bit?"

2007 honda odyessy ran out of fuel.put fuel in now starts and dies

You probably have air in the fuel lines. I would suggest you keep trying, soon all the air should be evacuated. Or disconnect the fuel line at your injectors and run the fuel pump to get out all the air.

1964 falcon ranchero 260 v8 have to prime carb. after idle a few days to start. allso when driving and come to a stop dies

Disconnect the fuel line from the carb. Put the fuel line in a container and crank the engine for 4 or 5 seconds. You should see good squirts of fuel. Better yet put a fuel pressure gauge in line just before the carb. You should have 4-7 psi. It might be quick to get a gas jug a start a syphon to the carb. Dont forget to catch the fuel from the disconnected fuel line. If it starts right up its probably the fuel pump. If not the carb may need a good cleaning and rebuild. Check float bowl level. Check idle air screw adjustment.

How do I get my van to run after changing fuelpump? Battery went dead and how do I get air out of fuel line? When I took tank gas came out of lines.

you have to take the fuel pump relay out and crank the car 3 separate times for a few seconds each time. Then put the relay back in and start the car. You're probably going to have to do this while the car is being jumped since the battery is dead.

My 2001 Chevy Cavalier acts like it is not getting gas, a new fuel pump and fuel filter and line was put on and it quit again on me, another fuel pump, spark plugs or points was put on and still will

Check your lines, specifically where your filter housing goes into the fuel tank. I had the same issue and I just had to replace that filter along with a hose. It seems the line somehow got clogged. I hope you find this helpful.

2005 SLK350 will not start

have you got access to a star?(merc diagnostic computer)
because that could really help you out.

i don't know how good your mechanical knowledge is but i would check the basics first, have you got fuel or a spark. if i were you i would pop the hood/bonnet, lift off your engine cover and air box with air filters intact and locate your fuel line feed (big silver braided hose) and use a 17mm spanner to open it and detach,be careful of fuel in the lines!!! open it slowly and make sure don't have anything close by that will ignite the raw fuel! with this done push the fuel line over in a safe direction with a collector bottle of some kind on the top and turn your should have fuel coming up through that line in to your bottle,if you don't that rules out loads of possibilities and is probably your fuel pump.

if you don't get fuel coming up,try putting more fuel in your tank before you replace the pump as your fuel gauge may be could have checked all this in the same time that it took my to type it out so it's worth giving it a of luck and let me know how you get on

1997 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 two door came home parked the next morning would not start. it quite gettin fule and or fire put a little fuel in it just turns over. i thank it's got to be put on a teck machine.from...

If you put gas through and got nothing, it is probably something else. Have you checked your fuses? You can get a code tester at Autozone or parts store. A cheap one cost 40-50. It would save you a lot of money. Buy a Haynes Book, shows everything you need to do it yourself and shows you the code matches. Have you tried anything yet?

I took my 2002 Toyota Highlander to autozone because the check engine light was on. They told me it was code P1150 - manufacturer air/fuel metering. Is this an oxygen sensor? My Toyota is a 2WD 4 cylinder....

Welcome to FixYa. I'll be glad to help you out.

Code P-1150 indicates an Air-Fuel sensor range/performance issue.

The air fuel sensor is similar to an oxygen sensor, but it does a different job.

Without in-depth analysis on a scan tool that can read the output of the A/F sensor, it is hard to tell you exactly what is happening, but prior experience indicates that you probably need to replace the A/F sensor.

You would do well to purchase a genuine Toyota A/F sensor, as the cheaper 'aftermarket' units do not perform well; your check engine light may remain on after you replace the sensor with an aftermarket one.

Thanks fopr choosing FixYa for assistance today.

We have the same prob

plugged air filter will result in too lean.not too rich. have the fuel pressure tested. overfuelling will result in the catalytic converter overheating.if the 02 sensor on the catalytic is no good,it will not sense unburnt fuel and the ecu will overfuel. check the air inlet hose and the airflow meter

Hi my nissan maxima has problem

The oxygen sensors in the exhaust pipe are saying the fuel/air ratio is too lean. This commonly happens when the computer in the car reached it's limit putting out the most fuel. Therefore, the mix ratio is still lean.
The possible problem maybe:
The fuel pump not puting out enough pressure.
The fuel filter maybe clogged
The fuel injector maybe clogged or needs to be cleaned.

Were there anymore trouble codes besides the two from Autozone?

fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is probably it or the egr valve is stuck open allowing burnt fuel to flood the intake, im leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator because the o2sensor is probably reading rich or if its reading lean then i would choose the egr valve . good luck
