Question about 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
The ignition system will not operate and the engine will not start if the PCM Powertrain Control Module and the crankshaft position sensor are defective. I would look at starter and solenoid to begin with make sure there is good wire connections at both or take stater to parts store have them put on machine to test it (it should be free) and then check battery terminals clean and tighten if needed check voltage on battery may need replaced. Then check alternator voltage or have parts store check it on the machine ITS free most places as long as you have another way to get to parts store, make sure the shifter is all the way in the park position, check the ignition coil for proper working order. check fuses That's the cheapest possibilities first. If no luck with those units You should probably see a mechanic Ignition system is fairly tricky after that it's made up of ignition timing engine speed coolant temp throttle position vacuum pressure in the intake manifold. This is all relayed to the PCM by the crankshaft position sensor throttle position sensor coolant temp sensor and the map sensor this is where the $$$ kick in. I would not be guessing from this point. Hope that Helps.
