Question about Pontiac Vibe

Open Question

I have a 2008 Pontiac Vibe GT with 106,000 miles on it. This morning (-7 below F) I had the Engine Telltale come on solid along with the Stabilitrak Telltale and the VSC telltale. (Smelled a natural gas like smell at the stop light) Please advise. (It has not had the ECM replaced, it was checked and was not in the series of numbers)

Take the car to Autozone or similar business that offers free scaning of your computer--the scanner can turn off the light if it finds no further problems. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: My wife got a VSC

VSC is a Vehicle Stabilization Control. The oxygen sensors have nothing to do with this. Just a heads up, I work for BOSCH and I make these oxygen sensors everyday. The VSC is exactly what it states. One of the Oxygen sensors could be bad, but from someone that makes these. The aftermarket is the same thing as the OEM. Some will say "that's not true" but the only difference is the marking on the part. I would have the mechanic pull everyone out and check for break down. It would really be a good idea if you change all of them. Good Luck.

Repeated PO171 Lean Code:2008 Pontiac Vibe

First thing i would do is take the mass air flow sensor off and clean the small thin wires inside with a non-chlronated brake cleaner let dry for 10 minutes then re-install.If that does'nt help then check the fuel pressure it could be a weak pump or clogged fuel filter. Then check for vacuum leaks and next i would have the injectors cleaned.
