Question about 1993 Chevrolet Camaro
I have a 1992 camaro RS with a 305 V8. It only overheats at low speeds with the A/C on. I have replaced the radiator, I have two 3690's Hayden cooling fans mounted to the radiator. I have them wired to a toggle switch mounted to my dash. I also have a 165 thermostat and a new water pump. When traveling at highway speeds the car runs cool. I know the fans are turning on and I have them on from the moment I turn on the A/C. If I turn off the A/C the temp goes back down. the condensor is clean and not plugged up. I was thinking of mounting a fan to the front of the condensor to push air through but I do not know what else to do. Also, the air deflector at the bottom of the car is in good shape. Does anyone have any sugestions on how to stop this?
Man! this is a good one! Try painting the spair tire blue! If that's not it, Make sure the fans are pulling air through the rad. not pushing. (it's easy to wire them in reverse). Did you convert to 134? If so the condenser may need to be replaced with an after market, more efficient one. Also recheck the small stuff like, water flow, kinks in hoses, thermostat.
