What engine, there are 2, 2.5L and 4.0, I have both here.(wranglers)
can be 50 things , but in pure physics far less.
1:lost 12vdc electrical power, you see lamps and things dim out....
2: loses engine compression badly hot, one or more cylinder (a $20 gage finds it)
3: bad spark, caused by not doing tuneups at 60k miles.
and timing, test. for spark at each plug and check timing after a tune up we do that. full 60k. not just spark plugs.
4: bad fueling. this can be a huge list of possibles.
a: bad sensors.
b: low fuel pressure, fuel starvation ($20 tool to test)
c: too high pressure , engine floods, spark tips, soaked in raw fuel.
d; bad injectors (clogged, leaking or dead) $20 tool to test.

there are tests. for each class of failure. 1 to 4.
do you want to guess, or test. its your choice .
buy tools or go broke guessing.

My 1999 Buick LaSabre dies after 15 minutes and will not restart til it cools down for 1 or 2 hours?

Have you done any testing? Any applicable trouble codes? How long since a tune-up?
When the vehicle stalls do some testing, if the engine is hot, wear gloves. Use a spark tester, check for spark with engine cranking. If spark everywhere, at least you know that system is ok.
If you lose rpm signal, during cranking, no spark, no fuel injector pulse. I have seen crank sensors that would do that, the rpm signal comes from crank sensor. Your not giving us enough info to determine if it is the crank sensor?

After running bout 15 minutes dies not restart for bout an hour

Did you get it scanned to see if any fault code is set? Could be crank or cam sensor or even the fuel pump.

Sounds like a vapor lock in the fuel line. If the fuel line is a hose, then in summer time, the line , if it is old, will collapse due to vapor lock. This will cause the problem you are describing.

I was driving and the bronco died. I waited for a while then the bronco then the car strated again.

most of the time its the crank sensor doing this. it will die then restart after about 15 to 20 minutes, when it cools down, until it dies again. the crank sensor sends a signal from the crankshaft to pcm. to tell its the right timing, if bad timing will be way off. and engine will die out. good-day !!

My timing belt and water pump for Honda Accord 1990 was replaced and used the car for 2- 3 weeks. After driving about 15 minutes, entering the freeway, my car slowed down but the engine still running....

If you have never changed that distributor on your 1990 Accord, I would suspect it. Check for spark while cranking. The sensors inside the distributor would usually heat up, after 15-20 minutes of running, and would then die out, until the car is cooled off for a while. Look into that distributor.

My saturn Ion 2006 will cut off while i am drinving it. It will restart after about 20 minutes but will die in about 15 seconds. The used to run for about 20 minutes between the times it would die but not...

first thing to do is check for codes. this will give you a direction to begin diagnostics . most probable causes are, cranks sensor, ignition module or fuel pump. if you have a tach on the dash and you see rpm during cranking i would eliminate the possibility of a failed crank sensor, if no rpm signal go right to the crank sensor. next check for fuel pressure, 40psi is going to be within specs to allow it to run.

When I drive the lumina about 20 miles and brake to stop engine dies. Will restart in park but as soon as put in drive or reverse it instently dies after it cools about 10-15 minets can restart and drive

a bad crank sensor causes a car to shut down while driving down road. and will not start back up for about 10 minutes. have car scanned to read the problem codes. any auto parts stores will scan for free.

1995 BMW 540I starts well cold, then dies out after getting to normal operating temperature. Usually will not restart until cools for a long time..cranks but won't start....Jack

I would check the fuel pressure just after starting and again after 10-15 minutes (or before it dies). Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Could be a stuffed up filter, or the fuel pump could be dying. I had a Volkswagen some years ago and it had two fuel pumps, a large one up in the engine bay and a small "helper" in the gas tank. The one in the gas tank was bad but the bigone was fine, so I'd start the car normally, drive for about 20 minutes, then the car would die and not want to start again until it had cooled off. Maybe you have the same setup.

check to see if you have fuel pressure after it dies. fuel pump could be getting hot and shutting off.
