Question about 1995 Lincoln Town Car

98 lincoln town car flashers,turn signals,brake lights don't work

I have a 1998 lincoln town car. The blinkers, flashers and brake lights do not work. The headlights do work as do the parking lights. I have tested every fuse under the hood and under the dash.Could this be a LCM problem? Is there a way to determine this is the problem before spending $400 on the module. Thanks so much

That is the problem. I jiggled the flasher button and the lights are now all working. What is this part called that I need to replace and where can I get it? Thanks so much. You are the man!

while driving down the road or even sitting in the drive with the car running the tach,speedometer,turn-signals,and headlights will shut off. you can turn the headlights back on manually. when they come back on the dash looks like you just turned the key back on. the parking brake light also acts up.

Check the outputs on the multi function switch (t/s switch) the brake lights and flashers all go threw this switch try to wiggle the flasher button if the lights start to work then the switch is bad to replace switch remove bottom cover by pedals if it has one bottom cover on steering colum has i beleave 4 screws that hold it on, the tilt colum lever unthreads and the cover will come off the upper colum just clips on you will have to remove the key tumbler to get it off . you need to disconnect the battery at this point and block the wheels. to get tumbler out put key in and turn to run postion there is a small silver button that pushes in with small screwdriver once its pushed in use the key to pull tumbler out the top cover will now come off you will probably have to tilt colum down and shift to 1 to get cover off there are 2 torx head screws that hold switch on plug new switch in and reconnect battery to test lights unhook battery again and reassemble please let me know how you make out

the part is called a muti function switch but if you ask for a turn signal switch i'm sure that they will get you the right part. you can get them at the dealer or threw advance auto parts for sure and probably threw any other local parts store i'd just call and make sure they have one in stock first if you need anything else feel free to ask.

No brake lights, blinkers, flashers . Fuses good bulbs good

make sure the 4 way flasher switch fully releases. May be a bad turn signal switch. Brake lights go though this switch.

Turn signals quit working on my 99 lincoln town car! Everything else works but the blinkers! Fuses and bulbs ok! Thank you!

under the dash is a blinker solenoid. it constantly clicks when the turn signals are on. could be bad. Does the four way hazards work? if they do then it will be your turn signal switch (the handle you use to turn on the turn signals.) I've been a mechanic for 10 yrs. Hope this helps

Brake lights and turn signals

I had this same problem on a 1995 Lincoln Towncar -- thought I might have to replace the Signal Switch - then it was suggested to check the ground for this wiring. However I was told to check the HAZARD SWITCH. The Hazard Switch was not On or Off it was stuck in the middle. Simply pushing it up and down correct the problem. I was also told that maybe a little WD40 on the HAZARD SWITCH might help.

This is an easy try me first fix. It worked for me and cost 0.
