Question about 1997 Ford Taurus

Battery light comes on in car and lights and inside lights pulse

The lights and inside lights kinda fade some and the battery light comes on. I have put in new alternator and new battery. I don't know what else to do. I was told that it could be a multifunction switch and they would have to take apart steering column. The car kinda makes a very slight kinda revving noise... I don't know how to explain it. Any help would be appreciated. I am tired of dumping money into this car. Plus now the check engine light has come on too.....

Did u change the alternator connector? that is where the problem is in this car, u can buy a alternator repair connector from Ford, but u must splice it in correctly or the problem will come back.

If your talking about the starter motor, why crank it with all the lites on, your talking headlamps on? Even with auto-headlamps, you can usually turn them off, one way or another.
Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Check your charging system.
If it cranks good, but, won't start, have helper crank it, where applicable, check spark--fuel--injector pulse.

1986 Cutlass battery gage shows my battery isnt getting a good charge unless i hit the gas .

Yes, a slipping belt can certainly affect alternator output. Squealing could be a bad belt, but check all the pulleys for the belt for roughness or wobble-bad pulley.

Car intermittantly wont start

This kinda sounds like a bad ignition module which is inside the distributor. Sometimes with older vehicles like this it is best to replace the entire distributor with a rebuilt unit from your auto parts store. There are other parts inside the distributor which are old and worn and might cause issues later. I think the module costs about $50 or so and the complete distributor probably about $150

The truck stays on as long as i'm driving but whn i come to a stop or slow down it dies and i have to restart it. I thought maybe the alternator, would that be right? Also the lights start on the dash fade...

My truck is manual and is idling rough at low rpms, it kinda surges and rpm starts to drop like between 500 and 900 rpm as well.

I have trouble starting it and stalls on me.

I have changed the alternator, starter, battery, battery cables, rotor, distributor cap, spark plug wires, spark plugs.

As for the dash light going out, mine does that too but on the left side (gas gauge side), I just usually apply a firm tap on the left side of the black part of the panel and it turns on.

2005 Tucson. Good battery. Blinking lights in

Is the battery new or just charged. the battery could be the problem. Check the cables for corrosion or loose connections. The cables can corrode inside the insulation near the battery this can be seen by swollen cables.

Find put where the hissing noise is coming from, you have a vacuum leak. Fix that , and everything else will be fixed. After you fix it, disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the computer and fuel trims.

Once in a while car dies while trying to start

Several things. Take the car to Autozone or Oreillys for a free scan. Before you go, check the starter and starter cables under the car. Have them check starter draw. Have them check the battery and alternator.

It sounds like the alternator is not quite filtering out the electric pulses it creates when working. The starter can ground out but usually not after you are moving.

If the gauges do not indicate anything, do a wiggle test to see if you can find the short.

My 02 envoy will not turn over

Sounds like the ignition switch. Does the tack when you first turn over the switch jump down and kinda start to climb and do the indicator lights under the tack cluster pulse dimb and bright? They should be bright .
