Question about 1999 Chevrolet Suburban
5.7L engine. Transmission pan has 16 bolts. Some have 17. Transmission shudders on take off, has trouble shifting and is slipping. Replaced the rear speed sensor as recommended by the diagnostic machine I no longer have access to. No help. Is the filter the next step? Or are there other options?
If it has over 100,000 miles or so, don't do a complete fluid exchange. Drop the pan, change the filter, and add 2 bottles of Lucas trans. additive. No premises but it's better than a new trans. Worth a try.
